OʻAHU — Danielle Rush, a 41-year-old artist with a background in Hollywood makeup, is making waves with her unique artistic approach. Having spent two decades honing her skills in the entertainment industry, Rush has collaborated with high-profile celebrities including American Idol’s Iam Tongi, actor Kiefer Sutherland, and talk show host Vanessa Lachey.

Her innovative process involves printing her landscape photography onto canvas and then applying makeup mixed with clear acrylic paint to enhance the captured lighting and ambiance. This method allows her artwork to reflect the dynamic lighting she experienced in person.
Rush will showcase several of her illuminated art pieces, highlighting her distinctive use of cosmetics in the creative process. Her work represents a fusion of photography and painting, brought to life through the unique application of makeup, which adds a layer of luminosity and depth to her landscape images.
