As fall approaches, museums and art centers throughout the Texas Panhandle and West Texas are gearing up for a season of compelling exhibitions. This fall, several notable shows will spotlight both historical and contemporary regional artists.
One such exhibition is now underway at the Ellen Noël Art Museum in Odessa. “Con Cariño,” a solo exhibition featuring the work of Guadalupe Hernandez, opened earlier this month. This display serves as a heartfelt tribute to Hernandez’s parents, who immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better future for their family. Hernandez’s papel picado-style artworks capture significant moments from his family’s journey and highlight the various jobs his parents undertook to support their children.
