Ukrainian Artist Raises Funds for Humanitarian Aid Through Art

Michael Velychko, a Ukrainian artist currently residing in a war-torn region, is leveraging his artwork to support humanitarian efforts for his homeland. The 30-year-old, who cannot leave Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict, is showcasing his paintings in an exhibition at the Sentinel Gallery in Wivenhoe, Essex.

Born in Poltava, Ukraine, Velychko began oil painting at the age of 15. Since then, he has sold 200 artworks to collectors across England, America, and Europe. His current exhibition aims to raise funds for Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid, specifically benefiting the Children’s Hospital in Kyiv.

The exhibition at the Sentinel Gallery will feature Velychko’s distinctive pieces, with proceeds from sales directed towards supporting Ukrainian children affected by the war.
