Portrait of Sir David Attenborough to be Auctioned for Charity

A digital portrait of Sir David Attenborough is set to be auctioned to support charitable causes. The black-and-white painting captures Attenborough in a contemplative pose, with his hand on his chin and his gaze directed downward.

John Donaldson, an artist from Bristol known for his extensive portfolio of over 200 portraits of celebrities and sports figures, created this particular piece. “I really enjoyed working on this portrait, and it’s probably my favorite painting to date,” Donaldson remarked.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, which supports research and care for motor neurone disease. The portrait, which has already met its reserve price of £500, will be auctioned until midnight on December 20.

The artwork was digitally rendered from a photograph of Sir David Attenborough, which was originally captured by the BBC for Silverback Studios.
