Paris explains that the songs he listens to while painting influence the mood and direction of his work, with Afrobeats being one of his current favorites. “I love to let songs that I’m listening to carry the vibe of the work,” he shares, demonstrating how intertwined his love for music and art has become.
Paris’ latest works, including his 2024 pieces Pas Mal and Late to the Party, reflect this dynamic energy. This intricate layering technique reflects the complexity of his work, as he admits that it can be difficult to know when a piece is truly finished. “I often go back to paintings even after I’ve finished them,” Paris reveals, adding that the process can take anywhere from a single day to an entire month.
