Memphis is set to showcase its vibrant spirit during the 10th Annual Paint Memphis Festival, which highlights the city’s artistic flair through stunning murals. Artists from across the region and beyond will take to the streets, contributing their creative expressions to various neighborhoods.
This year’s festival will take place at the intersection of Lamar and Willett, marking a return to the original site of the festival’s inception in 2017. The theme, “Art is Healing,” resonates strongly in light of the collective challenges faced during the pandemic, emphasizing the unifying power of art.
Karen Golightly, the festival’s executive director, stated, “Art is healing, and we’re thrilled to return to this space where the Glenview, Rozelle-Annesdale, and Central Gardens communities intersect. We aim to demonstrate how art can connect people and foster unity.”
As artists commemorate local icons, including the legacy of musician Memphis Slim, attendees are invited to witness the transformative power of creativity throughout the city.
