Kathryn Olley, a resident of Lytham St Annes, has expressed her shock and joy after being awarded the title of Lancashire Artist of the Year. The 43-year-old artist rediscovered her passion for painting following a period of emotional and physical burnout linked to chronic stress.
Olley, who developed her love for the arts during her school years and later studied graphic design, had not painted for many years before her recent return to the canvas. After discussing her struggles with her doctor, she decided to pick up her paintbrushes once more. Since then, she has enrolled at the London Art College and showcased her artwork in Blackpool, participating in exhibitions at the Grundy Art Gallery and Hive Arts for International Women’s Day.
