Art enthusiasts should keep an eye out for artists working outdoors (“en plein air”) in the Fraser Valley starting August 22. Nearly 30 juried artists from Colorado and beyond will be actively creating original pieces throughout the week leading up to Labor Day weekend.
During the Labor Day weekend, these artworks will be on display and available for purchase in Winter Park. The exhibition will take place on August 31 and September 1 at the Green Room of the Rendezvous Event Center.
This year’s Plein Air @ Altitude festival is expected to be the largest and most impressive to date. All proceeds from the event will support both the participating artists and Fraser Valley Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a Creative Arts Center in Fraser.
In the week leading up to Labor Day, the festival will feature daily paint-outs on both public and private lands. Attendees may spot artists at work on August 22 near Mary’s Pond in Rendezvous and on August 24 in downtown Winter Park, Fraser, and Granby.
