JAMAKHANDI — Veteran artist Vijay Sindhur, a prominent figure in Karnataka’s art scene, passed away at his home in Jamakhandi, Bagalkot district, on September 28, 2024. He was 84 years old and is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
Born in Banahatti, Sindhur completed his schooling in Jamakhandi before graduating from the J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. He returned to Jamakhandi, where he spent the remainder of his life, establishing an art gallery in his home and dedicating himself to his craft. Sindhur remained actively engaged in drawing and painting until the final days of his life. Throughout his career, he showcased his work in exhibitions across major cities, including Bhopal, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, as well as internationally.
