Art enthusiasts are in for a treat at the upcoming Fall for Art festival, which promises a vibrant celebration of creativity in downtown Covington on October 12. Hosted by the St. Tammany Art Association (STAA), this annual event will feature an array of artistic expressions, including live music, dance performances, and art demonstrations.
In addition to the festivities, local businesses will extend their hours to showcase artists and provide unique shopping experiences. “The event is a wonderful way to kick off the fall season while celebrating the talented artists who are members of the St. Tammany Art Association,” said Kate Fusilier, vice president of the STAA board.
One of the highlights of this free event is the opportunity for attendees to unleash their creativity on a community canvas. Participation is free, and those who paint on the canvas will have a chance to take their creation home. Renowned painter and radio personality T.C. Elliott will guide participants in their artistic endeavors. Last year’s collaboration resulted in a colorful heart at the center of the canvas, aptly titled “Be the Love COV,” according to Fusilier.
