This weekend’s “Go Do That!” event promises a variety of activities, including pumpkin painting, brass bands, and intricate altars.
Kicking off on Thursday from 5 to 11 p.m., Empower House Radio will host Empower Palooza at Brick at Blue Star, featuring performances by Tommy Starchild, Anel Flores, Mera Mera, and others. Proceeds from the event will benefit community radio station 101.5 FM.
For jazz enthusiasts, the Toro Flores Quintet will perform at the Japanese Tea Garden on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. as part of a Jazz Night sponsored by the San Antonio Parks Foundation, with a suggested donation of $5.
Saturday offers the Masa Collective’s BOO-tique Art Market Pumpkin Painting Contest at the Make Ready Market. Bring your own pumpkin and art supplies from 4 to 9 p.m., with the competition starting around 7:45 p.m.
The Luminaria Contemporary Art Festival will also take place on Saturday at Plaza San Paolo, showcasing art installations, music, dance, and acrobatics from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Finally, on Sunday, Southtown 101 Bar will host the Low & Slow Car Show from noon to 5 p.m., featuring impressive vehicles, local vendors, and live music by the band Suprimos. At 5:30 p.m., the BexarBrass band will perform a free outdoor concert at Beautify San Antonio Park in the King William neighborhood.
