Antiques Roadshow Shocks Viewers with Jack the Ripper Connection and High Valuation

In a recent episode of Antiques Roadshow, hosted by Fiona Bruce, viewers were taken aback by the revelation of a rare painting linked to the infamous Jack the Ripper case. The show aired from Cromford Mills in Derbyshire, showcasing various treasures, including a collection of rare football shirts, a brooch found in a sock drawer, and a unique bird clock.

Among the standout items was a notable painting by George Frederick Watts, a prominent artist of his time. The owner revealed that the artwork had adorned her parents’ home for as long as she could remember. When art historian Lawrence Hendra inquired about the identity of the Victorian gentleman depicted in the painting, she responded, “This is my great-great-grandfather, Doctor Thomas Bond.”
